Chicago Blackhawks Announce 2016-17 TV Schedule

Want to know where you can catch the Chicago Blackhawks on TV this season? Here’s your insider

The Chicago Blackhawks have announced their TV schedule for the 2016-17 season. It is not a shock the majority of the local games will be CSN Chicago.

Ever since adding the Blackhawks to their lineup of games in 2007, the schedule has expanded more and more each year. CSN Chicago will air 51 games this season.

    CSN’s marque Blackhawks games 

    Among the marque matchups featured on CSN Chicago this season are:

    Blackhawks vs Dallas Stars on November 6. This game will welcome to former Blackhawks in Patrick Sharp and Johnny Oduya.

    Blackhawks vs Carolina Hurricanes on January 6.  This will be the first time that Bryan Bickell and Teuvo Teravainen enter the United Center as visitors.

    Blackhawks vs Tampa Bay Lightning on January 24. This will be the second time the Lightning come back to Chicago since losing Game 6 of the Stanley Cup Final to the Blackhawks. 

    Blackhawks vs Montreal Canadiens on March 14. Andrew Shaw comes back to Chicago for the first time since more or less forcing the Blackhawks to trade him this offseason.

    Meanwhile, on WGN TV

    In addition to CSN Chicago’s offerings, WGN TV will air 20 regular-season games and one preseason game.

    Their marque games for that channel include:

    Blackhawks vs Detriot Red Wings on January 1.

    The rest of the Blackhawks’ 11 regular-season games can be found on national TV.

    The release of the schedule is a really a non-issue for people in the Chicagoland area. The lucky people who live in the area just need to check their TV guide to find out what channel the Blackhawks are on.

    If by some small mystery they do not have CSN Chicago, they can head over to their local bar or bar grill to find the game.
