Capitals defenseman Tom Poti says doctors are ``100 percent confident'' he'll make a full recovery after getting hit in the eye by the puck during a playoff game.
Poti said Friday he broke four bones in his face, and he lost sight in his right eye for more than 24 hours after he was struck during Tuesday's Game 6 against Montreal.
Doctors weren't sure whether he would get his sight back, but now they say he should have full vision restored within a week.
The Capitals were eliminated Wednesday when they lost Game 7, so Poti's season is over. He says he's going to take a visor home over the summer and see how it feels. He's previously shunned the thought of wearing facial protection, but the scary eye injury has him thinking about it.
