Canucks recall forward Victor Oreskovich from AHL

The Vancouver Canucks have recalled forward Victor Oreskovich from Manitoba of the American Hockey League after losing Mason Raymond to an apparent shoulder injury during Sunday's 3-0 win in Anaheim.

If Raymond couldn't play Tuesday in Phoenix, the Canucks would have been short a forward. Chris Higgins, acquired in a trade with Florida a week earlier, is out with a broken thumb.

The 24-year-old Oreskovich had one assist in eight games on Vancouver's fourth line this season but was sent back to the AHL after the Canucks added Higgins and fourth-line center Maxim Lapierre just before the Feb. 28 NHL trade deadline.
