Canadiens waive F Dustin Boyd

The Montreal Canadiens have waived forward Dustin Boyd.

Coach Jacques Martin says Monday the club will see if another team is interested in the 23 year old with one goal and a minus-6 rating in nine games this season. If he is not claimed, he is expected to remain with the Canadiens rather than be assigned to the minors.

The fifth-year NHL player signed as a free agent for $650,000 this summer. After a slow start, Boyd was a healthy scratch for five games but has played the last three.

Also, forward Lars Eller is expected to return to the lineup Tuesday night against the visiting Vancouver Canucks after sitting out one game.
