Canadiens' Subban hit in face by stick

Published Oct. 10, 2010 1:31 a.m. ET

Montreal Canadiens defenseman P.K. Subban was struck in the face by the stick of Pittsburgh's Mike Comrie on Saturday night and briefly left the game late in the first period.

While behind the net during a Pittsburgh power play, Comrie reached for the puck and clipped Subban, who struggled to the bench and went to the locker room with a towel over his face. He returned to the game for the start of the second period.

Comrie was given a double penalty for high-sticking.
