Capping Game 1

Heading into Game 1 of the much-heralded Capitals-Penguins series the focus was on the top stars, but the best player of that game was Washington's rookie goaltender.

While the Capitals' twin Alexanders of Ovechkin and Semins and the Penguins' Sidney Crosby and Evgeni Malkin factored into scoring, it was netminder Simeon Varlomov who stole the show, backstopping Washington to a 3-2 victory.
