Boston G Rask leaves with injury

Published Mar. 3, 2012 12:00 a.m. ET

Boston goaltender Tuukka Rask has left Saturday's game against the New York Islanders with an injury in the second period.

Rask, attempting to kick out his left pad on a shot midway into the second period, went down to the ice in pain.

He was helped off — with two players holding an arm each as he skated off — and he was replaced by Tim Thomas with 10:59 left in the period with the score tied at 1.

It was unclear what was the injury.
