Bolts coach Cooper: Film of Game 1 makes 'you want to vomit'

The first game of the Eastern Conference Finals between the New York Rangers and Tampa Bay Lightning was a close affair, as the Rangers won, 2-1, thanks to a tipped shot off Dominic Moore's shin with 2:25 left in the game.

But after watching game film, Tampa Bay coach Jon Cooper said he was less than pleased with his team's effort in Game 1.

"There's the times that you think you played OK, and you watch the tape and you want to vomit," Cooper told the media Sunday. "And that was a little bit how [Game 1] went."

The Lightning struggled to put consistent efforts together throughout the playoffs so far, as they required seven games to decide their first-round series, then admitted throughout the second-round series against Montreal that they were not playing their best hockey.

On Sunday, Cooper told the media his team played like spectators in Game 1.

"We were just handing them tickets to the movie, and we were a turnstile and watching them go by," Cooper said to reporters. "We can't do that."
