Columbus Blue Jackets defenseman Jan Hejda, who is expected to miss 4 to 6 weeks with a sprained left knee, was placed on injured reserve on Friday retroactive to Oct. 13.

Hejda was injured late in Tuesday's 2-1 victory over Calgary when he collided with Flames forward Curtis Glencross. The Czech veteran has one assist in five NHL games this season.
