Blue Jackets get Murray back from injured list

The Columbus Blue Jackets have activated defenseman Ryan Murray off injured reserve after he missed five weeks with a high ankle sprain.

Murray was hurt in a game against St. Louis on Feb. 6.

The 21-year-old picked No. 2 overall in the 2013 draft has one assist in nine games this season. A year ago as a rookie, he had four goals and 17 assists in 66 games.

The Regina, Saskatchewan, native had 22 goals and 99 assists in 191 career games with the Everett Silvertips of the Western Hockey League from 2009-12. A member of Canada's bronze medal-winning team at the 2012 World Junior Championships, he also played in the 2012 World Championships.
