Blackhawks' Hjalmarsson suspended two games

Chicago Blackhawks defenseman Niklas Hjalmarsson has been suspended for two games for delivering an illegal hit from behind on the Buffalo Sabres' Jason Pominville.

The NHL said Wednesday that Hjalmarsson will forfeit $37,634.40 in salary for the hit during the first period of Monday's game. Hjalmarsson was assessed a major penalty for boarding a game misconduct penalty.

Hjalmarsson will miss games against Nashville on Wednesdasy night and at Columbus on Friday night. He is eligible to return Saturday against Buffalo.
