Berube agrees to one-year deal with Islanders

NEW YORK (AP) The New York Islanders have agreed to a one-year deal with goaltender Jean-Francois Berube

Berube, 24, made his NHL debut with the Islanders last season, posting a 3-2-1 record with a 2.71 goals-against average and .914 save percentage in seven games.

The Islanders claimed Berube off waivers from the Kings on Oct. 6, 2015.

He led the American Hockey League with 37 wins in 2014-15 and backstopped the Manchester Monarchs to a Calder Cup championship.

The Kings selected Berube in the fourth round (95th overall) of the 2009 draft.
