What to expect from Dexter McDougle
Last season came to an end before it had a chance to begin for New York Jets rookie cornerback Dexter McDougle as he suffered a season ending torn achilles injury during training camp. As the 2015 season nears, what can the Jets expect to get from the second year corner?
Last season, McDougle would've had severla opportunities to get significant playing time as injuries ravaged the team's secondary, especially at cornerback. However, he missed that opportunity and will look to make the most of what is to come in 2015.
It looks to be a tough climb up the depth chart after the Jets added Darrelle Revis, Antonio Cromartie and Buster Skrine via free agency. Not to mention the fact that former first round pick Dee Milliner returns after a season ending injury of his own. That makes four cornerbacks who are most likely ahead of McDougle before factoring Marcus Williams and Darrin Walls into the equation.
McDougle has the ability to cover one-on-one but will have to have an impressive training camp just to make it as the fourth cornerback on the team.
