WATCH: Browns TE Gary Barnidge makes terrific juggling catch

Published Oct. 4, 2015 7:49 p.m. ET

Browns tight end Gary Barnidge kept his team alive down the stretch with a tremendous juggling catch against San Diego late in the fourth quarter.

Barnidge reached up with one hand to corral a floater from Josh McCown just inside the Chargers' 5-yard line. After tipping it up in the air, he gathered it as he fell to the grown and still managed to get an elbow down with possession before going out of bounds. The play was initially called incomplete, but was overturned after head coach Mike Pettine tossed his red challenge flag.

McCown rewarded Barnidge with a 1-yard touchdown two plays later and a two-point conversion tied the game at 27-27 just before the two-minute warning. Barnidge finished with six catches for 79 yards to follow up a career-best six-catch, 105-yard performance last week.

The final outcome didn't go in the Browns' favor as San Diego marched down the field for a game-winning field goal as time expired, but it appears as if the Browns have at least found their No. 1 tight end for at least this season.
