Washington Redskins TE Jordan Reed fully cleared for training camp

Head coach Jay Gruden was the bearer of great news on the Washington Redskins' injury front at his Wednesday pre-training camp press conference. The first bit of good news was related to tight end Jordan Reed.

Reed missed the majority of the team's offseason program after undergoing a procedure on his knee. According to Gruden, Reed is all cleared and ready to rock when the Redskins get their first practice underway.

Getting healthy and staying healthy have been two separate issues for Reed throughout his career. Last season, Reed missed games with a hamstring injury that also hampered his play when he was on the field. In 2013, Reed missed the final six games with a concussion after missing an earlier game with a quad contusion. Before that, he missed time in OTA’s with knee and quad injuries and in training camp with a mid-foot sprain.

Reed is hopeful that he can put all that behind him in 2015. When he has managed to stay on the field, he has been a dynamic "move" tight end with the lateral agility to make defenders miss and separate from coverage.
