Tom Brady barely edges Cam Newton for top spot in Pro Bowl voting

Tom Brady and Cam Newton have found their names linked together for much of 2015, mainly because of their MVP-caliber seasons. While Newton may have the edge on Brady for the award at this point, Brady is seemingly the more popular quarterback among fans.
Pro Bowl voting came to a close this week, and the results were released on Thursday. Brady barely edged Newton as the leading vote-getter in the NFL, earning 701,554 votes to Newton's 701,086 -- a difference of just 468 votes.
Andy Dalton trailed the two by a wide margin (525,638 votes) for third place on the list, followed by Carson Palmer (514,967) and Aaron Rodgers (510,374). Rob Gronkowski was the top non-quarterback on the list at No. 6 with 509,251 votes. Odell Beckham Jr., Antonio Brown, Devonta Freeman and Adrian Petersoun complete the rest of the top 10.
Unsurprisingly, the Patriots have eight players who finished in the top 2 of their positions. Julian Edelman likely would have been among them, but a broken foot forced him to miss four games.
Players and coaches will submit their final votes, as well, giving deserving players like Miami Dolphins safety Reshad Jones a chance to make the squad.
