The Steelers head into their final week of the preseason to face the Carolina Panthers in their annual matchup.

While the team prepares for roster cuts and for the start of the regular season we’ll be busy looking for mentions of your Black & Gold so we’ve got you covered. Here’s your Steelers Morning Huddle for Thursday, Sept. 1st.

James Harrison got the vindication he was hoping for, finally. After several months of a pissing contest between the NFLPA and the league over the Al-Jazeera documentary that named several players including Harrison as involved in PEDs the league finally cleared all parties of any wrongdoing.

I hope it hurt Roger Goodell and all the rest of the stuffed shirts in the league office to publically admit that James Harrison hasn’t done anything wrong. I hope it at least gave him indigestion.

Soon

The PPG’s Gerry Dulac is an authority on the Pittsburgh Steelers. Now that the contract situation between the team and receiver Antonio Brown has been resolved satisfactory for both sides they can move on to locking down guard David DeCastro to a long-term deal.

Apparently the deal will get done soon, which is a good thing considering their self-imposed deadline of the regular season kickoff ending all contract negotiations. Let’s get it done, shall we?

Relationship goals

Steelers quarterback Ben Roethlisberger and offensive coordinator Todd Haley are relationship goals AF. Who would have thought it would have gone this way from how they started?

The Trib’s Mark Kaboly points out how the relationship has evolved over time to a trusting relationship with the common goal of winning. The no huddle offense, which everyone loves, is a Haley and Roethlisberger collaboration at its best.

Sometimes it’s Roethlisberger calling the plays, sometimes it’s Haley. It all depends on the timing and circumstances. Here’s hoping this relationship can reach the pinnacle of success this February.
