Seahawks sign former Packers RB Eddie Lacy to reported one-year deal

The Seattle Seahawks have running backs Thomas Rawls and C.J. Prosise at the top of their depth chart, but their backfield is about to get even more crowded.
According to his agency, Eddie Lacy is signing with the Seahawks.

Per ESPN, it’s a one-year, $5.55 million deal with $3 million guaranteed.

Lacy, 26, has been a huge disappointment the past two years after rushing for more than 1,100 yards in each of his first two years with the Packers. Weight gain and an ankle injury played significant roles in his struggles, but he’s hoping to put those issues behind him.
He reportedly hasn't curbed his weight issue just yet, though, weighing 267 for one of the teams he visited.

Unfortunately, Seattle’s offensive line is not nearly as strong as Green Bay’s and he’ll have serious competition in Rawls and Prosise. It remains to be seen how the Seahawks will manage each player’s workload, but it’ll be difficult to get all of them touches.
Seattle also expressed interest in free agents Adrian Peterson and Jamaal Charles but ultimately settled on the younger and likely cheaper Lacy.
