Russell Wilson says he'll 'miss sharing the backfield' with Marshawn Lynch

The Seattle Seahawks are losing one of their best players to retirement.

Running back Marshawn Lynch posted a picture of his Seahawks' lime green cleats that were hung up on a powerline with a peace sign emoji.

Not long after, quarterback Russell Wilson reflected on his time playing with Beast Mode.

Lynch, who turns 30 in April, has had over 1,200 carries over the last five seasons. Last year, Lynch was limited to just 111 carries and 417 yards because of a hamstring injury he suffered early in the season. Later in the season, Lynch sustained an abdominal injury, which required surgery and put him on the shelf for the remaining seven games.

Wilson can have some confidence in knowing second-year running back Thomas Rawls is expected to make a full recovery by training camp from his broken ankle. Rawls, who was the Seahawks' breakout player in 2015, had four 100-yard performances in his rookie season.

Losing Lynch, though, won't be easy as several players have tabbed him the heart and soul of the team.
