Robert McClain impressing Bill Belichick so far

The New England Patriots have big questions at the cornerback position as they try and find replacements for Darrelle Revis, Brandon Browner, Kyle Arrington and Alfonzo Dennard. One of the players who is competing for one of the starting spots that are up for grabs is Robert McClain who came over from the Atlanta Falcons this offseason.

While relatively being a no-name, he is certainly making one for himself with probably the most important person, head coach Bill Belichick. Belichick was complementary of McClain's play so far during minicamp.

"One of our hardest workers," Belichick said. "He needs to be versatile and he is."

McClain seems to be proving his versatility according to Belichick as he has been used all over the field so far during minicamp.

"We've used him at a lot of different spots – inside, outside, the nickel spot, special teams," Belichick said.

Despite the praise, McClain is trying to remain grounded by saying all the right things.

"I'm just trying to strengthen my weaknesses and strengthen my strengths to make it work for what I can do up here on the team," he said. "There's nothing really particular that I can say. I have to work on a lot of things, everybody does, and it's just part of football."
