Rex Ryan in favor of Tyrod Taylor over Matt Cassel

The Buffalo Bills have a quarterback competition on their hands as they head into 2015. EJ Manuel, Matt Cassel and Tyrod Taylor are all battling for the opportunity to lead the Bills to the playoffs for the first time since 1999.

Cassel and Taylor both enter the season as newcomers to Buffalo and are looking to make an impression on head coach Rex Ryan. It seems that Taylor has the advantage so far. In a piece written in the Buffalo News, Rex seems more interested in Taylor as a player than he does Cassel. That's right, Rex is intrigued by the quarterback who has thrown a total of 35 passes in his career and has totaled 199 yards passing, zero touchdowns and two interceptions. Specifically, Rex is in love with Taylor's mobility and speed which he feels can add a different dimension that could help the offense in 2015.

It should be noted that during minicamp, none of the quarterbacks played well enough to separate themselves on the practice field. In fact, the offense was so bad that the first team defense did not even face the first team offense on the last day of minicamp.

Finally, there are rumors that Cassel may be in danger of making the roster altogether. It will be interesting to see if Rex will take the gamble and allow Taylor to start for the first time in his career.
