Rex Ryan: Bills may not reveal starting quarterback until Week 1

The Buffalo Bills' quarterback battle will come down to either EJ Manuel, Matt Cassel, or Tyrod Taylor starting in Week 1. The problem is we may not find out which one will start until, well, Week 1.

On Friday, Rex Ryan said the Bills could wait until the last possible moment to name their starter.

This comes as somewhat of a surprise after it appeared as though Cassel had pulled ahead of the other two as the No. 1 quarterback. Not according to Ryan.

This could just be a way to throw off the Bills' opponents, as Ryan mentioned in his press conference. Or, Ryan could be completely serious in saying the Bills have no idea who will start their season opener.

Forcing the Indianapolis Colts, the Bills' Week 1 opponent, to prepare for both the read-option with Taylor or Manuel and a pocket passer like Cassel could help Buffalo somewhat. However, none of the three quarterbacks are particularly threatening to the Colts' chances of coming away with a win.
