Report: Romo and Dez get involved with recruiting for NBA's Mavericks

Published Jul. 1, 2015 3:49 p.m. ET

Dez Bryant is involved a lot more than you would expect for someone who has threatened to not be a part of the Dallas Cowboys football team Week 1 of the 2015 regular season. While he continues to wait on word of a new long-term contract, he has been involved in another venture with teammate Tony Romo and Cowboys owner Jerry Jones.

Mike Fisher of 105.3 The Fan reports that Bryant, Romo and Jones will join the Mavericks' brass to convince two of the NBA's biggest free agents, LaMarcus Aldridge and DeAndre Jordan, that they should play basketball in Dallas.

Aldridge reportedly grew up a Cowboys fan, so it's safe to assume that he thought it was a reception.
