Report: Patriots' Amendola (knee sprain) won't miss extended time

The New England Patriots got a bit of good news regarding wide receiver Danny Amendola's injury on Tuesday.
According to Tom Curran of Comcast SportsNet, Amendola suffered a sprained knee in Monday's win, and isn't expected to miss an extended period of time. After he left the game, it was unclear how severe the injury was, but Tuesday's MRI confirmed that it isn't a significant injury.
His status for Sunday's game against the Denver Broncos will be determined during the week, based on how much he practices and how he responds to treatment.
While Amendola received some good news, Aaron Dobson's prognosis wasn't as positive. Although he didn't suffer any broken bones in his foot, there is reportedly some ligament damage, which will determine how long he's sidelined. According to Curran, he's expected to miss Sunday's game and possibly more.
Fortunately, the Patriots won't miss Amendola for much time, but they could use all of the reinforcements they can get at wide receiver with Julian Edelman likely out for the remainder of the regular season.
