Report: Cardinals offer deal to running back Chris Johnson
Injuries have slowed the top two running backs - Andre Ellington and rookie David Johnson - atop the Cardinals' depth chart in training camp.
Now, the team is reportedly trying to woo Chris Johnson to come to The Desert. Johnson is currently a free agent and last played with the New York Jets in 2014.
He appeared in all 16 games but posted career lows in carries (155), rushing yards (663) and rushing touchdowns (1).
Johnson spent the first six years of his career in Tennessee, posting a 2,000+ yard rushing season in 2009. Since then, however, his production has declined.
Still only 29, the Cardinals must still believe he has something left in the tank.

The Cardinals are pursuing RB Chris Johnson. They have offered him a 1 year deal per sources. Stay tuned to see if he says yes. #Cardinals
