Ravens wide receiver Breshad Perriman returns to practice

Ravens rookie receiver Breshad Perriman was back on the practice field for the first time in eight weeks on Thursday.

Perriman has been out since spraining his right knee on the first day of training camp. A report emerged last week that he was likely to return "by October." The Ravens have had trouble stretching the field with anyone besides Steve Smith Sr. and could certainly use the services of their speedy No. 1 pick.

The 26th overall selection jogged through routes with receivers coach Bobby Engram before last Sunday's game in Oakland, according to Jon Meoli of The Baltimore Sun. He ran routes with the rest of the receivers at the start of Thursday's practice.

Linebacker C.J. Mosley (personal), defensive end Chris Canty (calf), running back Lorenzo Taliaferro (foot), and left tackle Eugene Monroe (concussion) were all absent from Thursday's session.
