Ravens place DE Brent Urban on IR-designated to return
The Ravens placed defensive end Brent Urban on injured reserve-designated for return Tuesday, giving him a chance to return after eight games.
Urban tore his biceps in early August, just as safety Matt Elam did at the start of camp. Elam is already on season-ending injured reserve, but the Ravens held off on making a decision with Urban. Baltimore needed to make a move in order to free up a spot to sign a third running back to the active roster. With the injured Lorenzo Taliaferro unlikely to play in Sunday's season opener, undrafted rookie Terrence McGee was signed from the practice squad.
Urban will be eligible to return to practice in six weeks. Once he returns to the practice field, he'll have a three-week window to get activated or go on season-ending injured reserve. Urban, in his second year out of Virginia, also missed his entire rookie campaign with a torn ACL.
