Peterson takes no pride in 100-yard games -- he prefers 200-yarders

Published Dec. 17, 2015 1:39 p.m. ET

Minnesota Vikings running back Adrian Peterson has some pretty high standards as one of the best ball-carriers in the history of the NFL. While most backs are stoked by a 100-yard performance, he doesn't get too pumped about them anymore.

For Peterson, a big day is a 200-yard outing.

Via Matt Vensel of the Star-Tribune:

Peterson has played in 117 regular-season games and has eclipsed 100 rushing yards in 48 of them (41 percent), so it's easy to see why he's a bit jaded by that milestone. His 200-yard performances aren't as prevalent. He has only pulled off six of them in his career: two as a rookie in 2007, two in 2012, one in 2013 and one this year.

Peterson's 200-yard performance this season came against the Oakland Raiders in Week 10. The 30-year-old back racked up a total of 203 yards in that game, including a 80-yard touchdown run, proving that his old legs have still got it.
