Less than a week after being reinstated by the NFL, tight end Fred Davis has agreed to a one-year deal with the New England Patriots, according to multiple reports.
FOX Sports 1 NFL Insider Mike Garafolo confirmed the move.
Davis, 29, who was suspended indefinitely in February 2014 for violating the NFL's substance abuse policy, totaled 2,043 receiving yards and 13 touchdowns in six seasons with the Washington Redskins.

He set a career high of 59 catches in 2011 but has only 31 since.
Davis and the selection of A.J. Derby in the sixth round of the 2015 Draft bring to six the number of tight ends on the Patriots roster. They join All-Pro Rob Gronkowski, Michael Hoomanawanui, Tim Wright and Scott Chandler.
