Packers rally to support Philbin

Even in the middle of intense preparations for Sunday's playoff game against the New York Giants, the Green Bay Packers have taken time out to support grieving offensive coordinator Joe Philbin.

Several players and coaches attended a visitation for Philbin's 21-year-old son, Michael, Thursday night. Others were attending the funeral Friday afternoon. Some said they would be there for both.

Philbin's body was recovered from a river in Oshkosh, Wis., on Monday. Police said an initial autopsy indicated he had drowned. Joe Philbin is away from the team indefinitely, and Packers coach Mike McCarthy acknowledges that it has been a rough week for everyone.

Wide receiver Jordy Nelson says the incident is a reminder that football is just a game and ''there are definitely more important things in life.''
