Packers' Finley had second surgery after infection

Published Nov. 3, 2010 10:09 p.m. ET

Green Bay Packers tight end Jermichael Finley had to have a second surgery on his injured knee last week because he developed an infection.

Finley says he had a 105-degree fever, spent two days in the hospital and is still receiving antibiotics intravenously. Finley says doctors had to ''rush in and clean out'' an infection.

Finley first revealed the second surgery in an interview with ESPNMilwaukee.com on Tuesday.

Finley was expected to have a breakout season in 2010, but hurt his right knee in an Oct. 10 loss to Washington and had the initial surgery two days later. He was placed on injured reserve Oct. 18.
