One-on-One with a Saints Expert
This week the Carolina Panthers (3-6) host divisional rival New Orleans (4-5) in a nationally televised prime time game set for Thursday night…
After both the Carolina Panthers and Saints suffered heartbreaking losses on Sunday, each faces the short turnaround before Thursday night’s Week 11 matchup. To learn more about the Panthers opponent, Cat Crave sat down with site Co-Expert Dean Mullen of WhoDatDish for FanSided.com.
1. With both teams coming off disappointing losses on Sunday, how do you think the Saints will respond?
The Saints will be ready to go Thursday night even though it’s a short turnaround. The reason being is quarterback Drew Brees. He’s the king of optimism and leadership and he’ll make sure with head coach Sean Payton that last week is a thing of the past.
2. Should Drew Brees be included in the MVP talk at this point in the season?
At first I thought you were way off. However, looking closer at his numbers he at least deserves a glance depending on how the Saints finish. It would be an accomplishment if New Orleans gets to 8-8.

3. How have those Saints that have returned from injury after being sidelined earlier in the year helped to turn the tide in New Orleans?
That is yet to be determined. Getting cornerback Delvin Breaux back is definitely a plus no doubt. New Orleans also finally got first round pick, defensive tackle Sheldon Rankins, to play after being hurt before the season. The only issue is now getting that team chemistry to gel. It’s hard when you have players coming in and out.
4. Key matchup in round two, after New Orleans won the first contest 41-38?
As close as these games have been, I think the kickers are most likely going to decide this game. Which kicker can make the clutch kick at the right time will be critical.
5. Final score prediction?
New Orleans Saints – 48, Carolina Panthers – 45
