NFL roundup: Eagles release Josh Huff after arrest this week
The Philadelphia Eagles will play out the rest of their 2016 NFL season without wide receiver Josh Huff, as the team released him due to his arrest this week.
Josh Huff, the wide receiver who was supposed to make Eagles fans forget Desean Jackson, was released by the team on Thursday. Huff got pulled over on Tuesday for speeding, and was charged with possession of an unloaded gun without a permit, and a small amount of marijuana.
Eagles head coach Doug Pederson originally said Huff would play this week against the Giants, but the organization obviously changed courses Thursday.
The Denver Broncos and Oakland Raiders will meet up on Sunday night in a huge AFC West matchup. Unfortunately for the Broncos, they may be without one of their leaders on defense.
Cornerback Aqib Talib is battling a back injury, and was held out of last week’s win against the San Diego Chargers. If he cannot go, Raiders quarterback Derek Carr should have success in the passing game.
Tony Romo is inching towards recovering from his broken back, but it remains to be seen whether or not he is still the starter in Dallas. Romo participated in 11-on-11 drills for the first time since being injured during the preseason.
Dak Prescott has been amazing in his absence, and has teamed with fellow rookie Ezekiel Elliott to lead the Cowboys to first place in the NFC East. Both Dez Bryant and Jason Witten were impressed with Romo, who will increase his throwing incrementally.

Running back C.J. Spiller is with his third team in the last two months, as he signed a contract with the New York Jets this week. Spiller, who rushed for 1,200 yards four years ago, still believes he can perform at the highest of levels.
He told reporters that he is still a great player after his first practice with the Jets, and the team is hoping he can add some depth to a running back group that includes Matt Forte and Bilal Powell.
Seattle Seahawks cornerback Richard Sherman has an opinion as to why the NFL has seen their ratings dip this season. Sherman says that the NFL is not allowing their players to entertain, making the game less fun for everybody. Viewership has been down across the board this season, and Sherman may have a point. Maybe the NFL is turning into the No Fun League.
