Mike Wallace scores first touchdown as Viking vs. Broncos in Week 4

Published Oct. 4, 2015 6:09 p.m. ET

Mike Wallace caught his first touchdown pass as a member of the Minnesota Vikings against the Denver Broncos in Week 4. The catch came late in the first half, right after Vikings linebacker Anthony Barr recorded his first career interception.

It took Vikings quarterback Teddy Bridgewater four games to find Wallace for a score. After acquiring Wallace in a trade with the Miami Dolphins the offseason, Minnesota would like to see this connection produce more six-point plays in the future.

Wallace broke into the league as an explosive deep threat with the Pittsburgh Steelers. Although his statistics were somewhat stifled with the Dolphins, the speedy wide receiver was still a reliable scoring threat. Last season, he scored 10 touchdowns despite a flaky on-field relationship with quarterback Ryan Tannehill.

The Vikings haven't yet rediscovered Wallace's deep-play potential, but Bridgewater's touchdown toss to him in Week 4 could unlock some of what we saw in Pittsburgh from 2009-2012.
