Kubiak: 7th-round QB Siemian is "way ahead of the curve"

Something about Trevor Siemian stood out to Gary Kubiak on film.
So he disregarded a lackluster 2014 season and made the former Northwestern Wildcats QB a late pick by the Broncos.
"I think I saw something I want to work with," Kubiak told 9 News Denver.
It's tough for such a late pick to blossom into an NFL starting quarterback. And it'll be even tougher for Siemian, who tore his ACL in his second-to-last college game and might miss camp time.
But the tape doesn't lie, and Kubiak thinks he picked a sleeper to challenge incumbent backups Brock Osewiler and Zac Dysert.
"When you look at the film you see pro characteristics," Kubiak said. "He can make the throws, he's very bright."
Kubiak later added Siemian is "way ahead of the curve." If that's the case, he can learn from Peyton Manning and do his best to stick on the final 53-man roster come September.
