While many fans of the New York Jets are worried about this season, the team must continue to move forward and grind to escape their early season failures.

Pathetic. Embarrassing. Clueless. These are just a few of the common words you’ll find fans of the New York Jets throwing out to the masses in regards to the kind of football they’ve been playing the past few weeks.

All hope is not lost, however. There is still plenty of football left to be played and if the Jets want to redeem themselves, it all starts this Sunday against the Pittsburgh Steelers. They need to come out of the gates swinging because they will undoubtedly be facing a tough team riding some serious momentum after the first quarter of the season.

The Jets can pull a surprise upset but it won’t be by sticking to whatever they were trying to accomplish the past two weeks. Hopefully, the Jets revised their game plans in all aspects of the team and go back to what worked in the past.

Of course, it won’t mean anything if the confidence isn’t there. Sure, it’s unfortunate the Jets have lost the past two games but winning a game like this against the Steelers would help them immensely. It’s all about the preparation the Jets put in this week to ensure, they’re ready for anything and everything the Steelers throw their way.

As per the Media Relations Department of the Jets, here is what head coach Todd Bowles had to say about keeping the confidence level high on his team:

On how to keep the team’s confidence level high…

Continue to work. Don’t back down from the challenge within the schedule or just because we’re 1-3 right now. Just keep going to work every day and working hard. Just because the records not where you want it right now doesn’t mean you pack it in and quit.

Bowles is completely right as this team probably heard an earful from him and put in a ton of extra reps to become a more disciplined team.

The Jets can’t let their season be defined by missed tackles, the inability to score touchdowns or dumb penalties.

It’s all about putting the past behind them and focusing on the task at hand, which at this point in time is being ready to be put in a position to beat the Steelers.

Overall, confidence will always breed success. Even in times of adversity, confidence can be a difference-maker for a team like the Jets entering yet another must-win game. They have the talent and leadership to execute, now it’s just a matter of them continuing to grind to want it as bad as one needs to breathe.
