Detroit Lions defensive end Ezekiel Ansah is starting to garner some national attention for his pass-rushing prowess. Two of the NFL's most notorious sack masters have taken notice of Ansah's progress and commented on his potential recently.

Houston Texans defensive end J.J. Watt described him as a "great player."

Ziggy Ansah is a great player. That's a great football player there. And I told him so the other week.

...

I sent him a message a couple weeks ago, and told him I think he's a great player. And he is.

Denver Broncos outside linebacker DeMarcus Ware conveyed a similar sentiment, calling Ansah "phenomenal."

Via MLive.com:

He's just a phenomenal player. He plays really well. I just think keep doing what he does, and (he'll be one of the best). He's gotten to that point now where, you leave him by himself, he'll make sure he'll wreak some havoc on you.

The Lions selected Ansah with the fifth-overall pick in the 2013 NFL draft. He had 8.0 sacks as a rookie and 7.5 in his second season. Then, in 2015, he exploded for 14.5 sacks, finishing third in the NFL behind Watt (17.5) and Oakland Raiders defensive end/linebacker Khalil Mack (15.0).

Ansah, 26, was not introduced to football until his sophomore year at BYU, so he entered the league as an extremely raw prospect. As the 6-foot-6, 279-pound lineman continues to develop, more players and fans will start to recognize his pass-rushing dominance.
