Grading the Bears
Quarterback
C- Jay Cutler, clearly off his game, would have benefitted from Jeremy Bates' game plan. Cutler was 17-for-39 for 290 yards, 0 TDs and 0 INTs for a 69.4 passer rating.
Running backs
C Matt Forte had a six-yard TD run on the fifth play of the game but just two yards on five carries after that. Chester Taylor (4-31) had a 24-yard run on a fourth-and-1.
Receivers
B Johnny Knox (5-120, 67-yard catch), Earl Bennett (36-yarder) and Devin Aromashodu (34-yarder) had big plays. Devin Hester drew a 58-yard pass-interference flag.
Offensive line
C- Makeshift lineup did the best it could, and Chris Williams had a nice block to help spring Forte for a TD, but it still wasn't enough to be considered progress.
Defensive line
C Couldn't sack Seahawks QB Matt Hasselbeck, though Henry Melton and Matt Toeiana came close. Julius Peppers was not the factor he has been this season.
Linebackers
C Brian Iwuh had nine tackles, but on a day when Bears needed a big play, Lance Briggs' absence was felt. Brian Urlacher had six tackles but no impact plays.
Defensive backs
C Charles Tillman (seven tackles) had a tough day, burned by Deon Butler's TD. Chris Harris had a big hit and seven tackles. Bears failed to pick off Hasselbeck.
Special teams
A- Hester's 89-yard punt return gave Bears a chance. But a flag called back Danieal Manning's kickoff-return TD. Leon Washington and Golden Tate were held in check.
Coaching
D Bears were outfoxed on two of three phases. Offense allowed six sacks. Hasselbeck played the Bears like a fiddle with a game plan that kept them off-balance.
