Cowboys LB McClain misses OTAs after undergoing knee surgery

IRVING, Texas -- Receiver Dez Bryant hasn't been part of the offseason with the Cowboys as expected because of his contract situation. Now linebacker Rolando McClain could miss most of spring workouts recovering from right knee surgery.

With defensive end Greg Hardy set to miss Thursday for the appeal of his 10-game suspension over a domestic violence case, the story for Dallas is as much about who isn't on the field as who is.

Coach Jason Garrett said McClain had arthroscopic surgery recently and is rehabbing in his home state of Alabama while handling personal business.

The Cowboys figured to be without Bryant because he wants a long-term contract and still hasn't signed his one-year offer of $12.8 million under the franchise tag.
