Colts' Chuck Pagano supported Eric Berry through cancer fight

The NFL community supported Chuck Pagano through his bout with cancer in 2012.

The Colts head coach repaid the favor in a big way by helping Chiefs safety Eric Berry through his own battle.

"He (Pagano) would text me and tell me, 'look, they're going to do a bone marrow biopsy," Berry told reporters at his This is what you need to be prepared for - this, this, this, and this.'"

Berry admitted the rounds of chemotherapy hit him hard. Having a person like Pagano in his corner -- someone who had just been through an identical fight -- must've helped immensely.

"He had me prepared for a lot of the things that I wasn't aware of," Berry said. "So I think I was just very blessed to have people to reach out and help me along this whole situation."
