Chicago Bears CB Tim Jennings is looking for a role, any role

At 31 years old, Chicago Bears cornerback Tim Jennings is not done yet. Even though the Bears are building a new scheme under defensive coordinator Vic Fangio and Jennings is an imperfect fit, the cornerback wants to contribute any way he can, according to Dan Weiderer of the Chicago Tribune.

"We'll see how it goes," Jennings told the Chicago Tribune about his first year in a new scheme. "And I can tell you this, whatever they ask me to do I'm willing to do it."

Jennings has played most of his nine NFL seasons on the outside, but his 5-foot-8, 185-pound frame is better suited for the slot moving forward. The transition from the outside to the inside is not without its complications.

"It is still a little awkward at times," Jennings said, per the Chicago Tribune. "But that just comes from being in (another) scheme for so long."

Defensive backs coach Ed Donatell wants to maximize his personnel, and his goal is to replicate each of his veterans' most productive years. That would be the 2012 season for Jennings. He had nine interceptions in 14 games that year.

That's a tall order for Jennings to duplicate, especially considering his new position.
