Chargers' McCoy: 'I'm going to keep fighting my (expletive) off'

The temperature of Mike McCoy's seat is scalding, even by San Diego standards.

Still, the third-year head coach isn't packing up his office just yet. There's still a season to play out.

"I'm going to keep fighting my (rear end) off," McCoy told U-T San Diego's Kevin Accee.

It's been a losing fight for much of 2015, though. His team has lost six games in a row and might not win another all year. And the offense he was once hired to tailor has come undone.

This season's group is fourth in total yards, but 22nd in points. That falls on McCoy's inept game plans and stubborn, run-first tendencies.

McCoy's fight will probably be a losing one. His team accomplished nothing with an extra week to prepare -- and now needs to prepare for life without him at the helm.
