Browns still waiting patiently on WR Dwayne Bowe

Two games, 12 snaps, two targets, and zero catches. This is not the production the Cleveland Browns had in mind when they signed Dwayne Bowe to a two-year, $12.5 million contract.

Bowe has been slow to recover from a hamstring injury, but was deemed a healthy scratch in Week 3. After a good week of practice, he sounded excited to get on the field for the team's Week 4 visit to San Diego.

"It starts Sunday. I can’t wait to go out there and showcase my talent and be a ringleader for the guys and go out there and bring home a win," Bowe said via "That’s all I can ask for. If God’s capable of having me out there playing, that’s what I’m going to do.”

The end result? Four snaps, one target, zero catches. And that was despite the fact that Brian Hartline left the game in the first quarter with injuries to his thigh and ribs.

Both head coach Mike Pettine and offensive coordinator John DeFilippo are keeping the faith in Bowe, expecting that he will be at full speed at some point this season.

Pettine said the Bowe just needs to keep working on his craft, which surely includes making over-the-shoulder catches.
