Bills place Williams, McKelvin, Carpenter on non-football injury list

The Buffalo Bills will open training camp on Friday without three key players on the field. The team placed defensive end Mario Williams, cornerback Leodis McKelvin, and kicker Dan Carpenter on the non-football injury list Thursday.

Because of the moves, all three players will be held out of practice until they are medically cleared to play, at which time they can be activated at any time.

Head coach Rex Ryan and the team did not say how long each player would be out or what the injuries are, but more information can be expected on Friday when camp opens.
