Antonio Brown: Darrelle Revis remains best cornerback

Published Jun. 30, 2017 6:28 p.m. ET

Antonio Brown believes Darrell Revis remains the best cornerback in the NFL despite the fact that the New York Jets are 1–2 on the season, he tells Sports Illustrated's Pro Football Now.

“I think Revis is still the top corner,” Brown said. “I think he still takes the initiative to cover the best receiver. Obviously, he had a tough offseason with him having wrist surgery and not being able to work on his wrist but he's still a competitor and still lining up against the best guys regardless of his circumstance. Obviously, he's been playing a long time and doing it at a high level for a long time.”

Revis, 31, is most recently coming off a game in which Buffalo Bills wide receiver Marquise Goodwin got past him for an 84-yard touchdown. Despite the fact that Goodwin is an Olympian in track and field, it is not the first time that Revis has showed some signs of a decline.

In the Jets' season opener, A.J. Green got past Revis on several occasions as he finished the day with 12 catches and 180 yards as the Bengals beat the Jets.

Brown and the Steelers will meet the Jets on Oct. 9.
