Alabama LB Reggie Ragland meets with Packers at Senior Bowl

The Green Bay Packers may have their sights set on a linebacker in the first round of the 2016 NFL Draft. In specific, they have an eye on Alabama's Reggie Ragland.

When speaking to the media at the Senior Bowl on Tuesday morning, Ragland said he had already met with three teams -- next up was the Packers.

Ragland is an old-school thumper who is a perfect fit as an inside linebacker in a 3-4 defense. After being named a unanimous All-American and the SEC Defensive Player of the Year, he can step in immediately and be a valuable run-stuffer at the NFL level. He has the frame for the job at 6-foot-1 and 258 pounds.

The Packers need an inside linebacker, as they plan to move Clay Matthews back outside in 2016. They have Sam Barrington, Jake Ryan and Nate Palmer ready to compete for the starting jobs. Ragland is a more enticing option than all three of the players currently on the roster.

If this Alabama product is still on the board when the Packers pick next spring, they should consider spending the 27th-overall selection on him.
