Adrian Peterson eclipses 1,000 yards, makes crucial mistake in process

On Sunday, Minnesota Vikings running back Adrian Peterson became the NFL's first rusher to reach the 1,000-yard mark this season. However, on the milestone-eclipsing play, Peterson also committed a game-breaking mistake.
Trailing by two touchdowns early in the fourth quarter, the Vikings were driving and starting to gain some momentum. Peterson's 10-yard run on this drive put him over 1,000 yards on the season and would have put his team just outside the red zone, but his fumble gave the ball back to Green Bay.
Peterson was largely ineffective against the Packers in Week 11, and the fumble was definitely his lowest point. He carried the ball 13 times for 45 yards, an average of less than 3.5 yards per rush attempt.
As rough as his day was, Peterson did have one shining moment: his six-yard touchdown run at the end of the third quarter. Check out his sixth score of the season in the video below, courtesy of the NFL's official Twitter account.
#Vikings RB Adrian Peterson just passed the 1,000-yard mark on the season. His seventh season of 1,000 yards or more. But he fumbled.
