The Washington Redskins are ready for a big game against the Cleveland Browns on Sunday. Here are some bold predictions for what will happen in the game.
The Washington Redskins and the Cleveland Browns are squaring off in a Week 4 matchup that will be absolutely critical to the Redskins success this season. The Redskins are 1-2 and are two games back of the Philadelphia Eagles for first place in the NFC East. The Eagles look like a legitimate contender, so the Redskins need to do the best they can to keep pace with them.
That said, this game against the Browns will be extremely important to helping them do that. The Browns are 0-3 and are not likely to be in any sort of playoff race this season. However, they could still embrace the role of spoiler and make game like the one on Sunday their de facto “Super Bowl.”
Needless to say, Sunday’s game is going to be a lot of fun. With all of that in mind, here is a look at some crazy things that could happen during the Redskins-Browns game.
5. Su’a Cravens Makes 5 Tackles, Records 2 Pass Defenses
Early in the 2016 NFL season, Su’a Cravens is looking like one of the best defensive rookies of the 2016 class. Cravens has excelled in coverage, and he has a high ceiling. He will continue to improve week in and week out, and he may have more of an opportunity to play now.
Safety DeAngelo Hall is out for the season with an ACL injury, so the team may elect to use Cravens more to help compensate for the lost cover skills. Cravens likely will not play safety, though he has the skill set to. The team will just utilize him as a coverage linebacker more often.
As a result of this change, the Redskins could see a bump in production from Cravens. It would not be a surprise to see him commit a handful of tackles. Of course, because of his coverage skills it will not be a surprise to see him also do very well in pass coverage. Expect him to get his hands on a couple of passes and make life tough for the Browns’ offense.

4. DeSean Jackson Torches Cleveland Defense For 100+ Yards, 1 TD
Joe Haden is a strong cornerback. Aside from him, the Cleveland secondary is pretty weak. They are going to have a tough time matching up with the Redskins receiving corps, and as a result one receiver should benefit. I think that DeSean Jackson could end up having a huge day for the Redskins.
Jackson has game breaking speed, and he has looked solid to start the season. While Kirk Cousins has been focusing on targeting Jamison Crowder a fair amount, Jackson is still the team’s top receiver. In fact, Crowder could end up being a decoy for Jackson as he tries to burn the Cleveland defense.
At the end of the day, I think it is reasonable to expect Jackson to post his first 100 yard game of the year. He is going to have a breakout game at some point and against Cleveland feels like the perfect opportunity to do so. Expect Cousins to throw towards Jackson early and often during Sunday’s game.

3. Kendall Fuller Records First Career NFL Interception
The Redskins are going to be shorthanded at the cornerback position. Bashaud Breeland and Dashaun Phillips are both going to be missing Sunday’s games with injuries, so somebody will need to step up and help fill in for them. Rookie Kendall Fuller will get a crack at being that player and he could impress.

Fuller had a strong preseason, and it looked like he was going to be a future playmaker in the secondary for the team. He will now get a chance to play for the first time during his regular season NFL career.
Because of the lack of depth at the position, I could see the Browns trying to target some of the young players early on in the game. However, Cody Kessler is a young player at the quarterback position, so he could struggle on early throws as well. If he tries to throw one Fuller’s way, he could make him pay and record the first interception of his NFL career.
It should be fun to watch Fuller regardless of what he does. I have a feeling that he will prove that he is ready to contribute, and he may not sit out another game for the rest of the season.

2. Ryan Kerrigan Records 2 Sacks
Ryan Kerrigan is going to get a favorable matchup this week. The Browns have a major hole at the right tackle position. The team lost Mitchell Schwartz in the offseason, and they replaced him with Austin Pasztor. Pasztor is a replacement level player at best, so he is going to have a tough time facing one of the better pass rushers on the Redskins team.
Through three games this season, Kerrigan has 1.5 sacks. He has been doing a lot of work to occupy opposing linemen to open up rush lanes for Trent Murphy and Preston Smith. Eventually, he will have a big day and this seems like the perfect matchup for him to exploit.
Kerrigan should be able to get a lot of pressure on the rookie quarterback Kessler. After all, Kessler is only making his second start and he has not yet faced a pass rusher of Kerrigan’s caliber. If Kerrigan can get around the right tackle repeatedly, then he should be able to put heat on the rookie. If that happens, then he will almost certainly get a couple of sacks during the game.

1. Matt Jones Rushes For Over 125+ Yards, 2 TD
The defense for the Browns is pretty poor overall. Their pass defense and run defense are equally as bad, so the Redskins offense should be able to get going. However, because the Redskins want to run a balanced offense, the team may elect to get the run game started up early. Because of this, second year back Matt Jones could have a big day.
Jones has not had a great start to the season, but part of his struggles have stemmed from play calling. Last week against the Giants, the coaching staff ran a more balanced attack that allowed Jones to rip off chunks of yardage against the solid Giants defense. This week, he should be able to succeed even more.
Jones’ blocking has improved due to addition by subtraction. Kory Lichtensteiger was placed on IR earlier this week, which means Spencer Long will start at center. Long is an upgrade over Lichtensteiger so that should allow Jones more space to move. The team also added veteran center John Sullivan, so when he is in the game that should help his cause as well.
Overall, Jones is going to do very well. He is going to eclipse 125 rushing yards and get two touchdowns on the day. Jones is capable of having strong performances, and this is the perfect time for a breakout game.
