Welcome to KD's world, Mr. Porzingis (Video)
There is no shame in getting dunked on by Oklahoma City Thunder star Kevin Durant. On Tuesday night at Madison Square Garden, New York Knicks rookie sensation Kristaps Porzingis simply added his name to the long list.
With the two 7-footers on the perimeter, Durant went to a nasty left-right crossover, blew by Porzingis, who could only flail his arm in defense, breezed into the paint and finished with a slam.
It was part of a run in which Durant scored eight consecutive points for the Thunder to give them the lead back before going to overtime in an eventual, and much-needed, 128-122 victory after losing at Brooklyn on Sunday.
Durant finished with a season-high 44 points. He scored 20 in the fourth quarter and overtime, including going 8-for-9 from the free throw line.
The day before facing Porzingis and the Knicks, Durant showered some high praise on the 20-year-old, 7-3 Latvian, calling him a "unicorn" -- which is a compliment -- and saying the youngster is going to be great.
