The Warriors plan on easing Andrew Bogut back from his concussion
The Golden State Warriors plan on easing center Andrew Bogut back into the lineup, with the possibility of bringing him off the bench.
“It’s probably more about easing him back in. He hasn’t played in a while now,” interim head coach Luke Walton said, according to the San Francisco Chronicle. “That’s something that’ll be decided once we know he’s 100 percent.”
Walton said Warriors head coach Steve Kerr will decided when Bogut suits up.
Bogut, who missed his sixth straight game with a concussion, has to go through a workout to determine if he's OK to play. If he passes the NBA's concussion protocol, he can play against the Detroit Pistons on Monday.
Part of the reason the Warriors can afford to not rush Bogut back -- besides his health -- is because of the stellar play of Festus Ezeli. Ezeli is averaging 10.3 points, 7.0 rebounds and 1.7 blocks in 20.0 minutes per game this season, and has done an impressive job filling in for Bogut.
